Close The Deal: International M&A Competition
IE Business School has teamed with Focus Finance to provide students with the opportunity to work in unison with a diverse international team to collaborate, create and close a real-life potential M&A deal in the Fall 2020 Close the Deal Competition.
Not only will students be provided with mentorship and technical sessions, but successful participants will have the ability to present their findings to a panel of Investment Banking and Private Equity Professionals. Previous finalists have also earned material compensation as their deals have been put into practice, and many others have obtained internship and job offers as a direct result of their M&A Origination pitches.

Global Case Competition Harvard 2020
The GCCH is one of the most prestigious and largest finance case competitions world wide. The competition is organized by the Harvard College European Business Group (EBG), Harvard Graduate Business Club (GSAS) and the IFSA Network.
The case focuses on a recent M&A, Private Equity, and Investment Banking scenario. The case will be released to participating teams on February 24, 2020 and competitors will have until March 13, 2020 to solve it. The top 10 teams will get the opportunity to present their case solution at our final event on April 24, 2020 at Harvard University to a distinct panel. The panel of judges consists of esteemed professors and distinguished industry professionals. The winning team will be entitled to a cash prize of USD 10,000.
The GCCH is an outstanding opportunity to learn and interact with students, cultivate an influential network, and engage with distinguished finance professionals.

CFI’s Global Financial Modeling Competition
Introducing CFI’s Global Financial Modeling Competition! Join the thousands of financial professionals who will compete to be named “number one in the world at financial modeling and valuation“. This prestigious competition will announce the top 20 finishers globally as a sign of distinction among finance professionals across the globe. Enhance your own professional profile by becoming one of the distinguished competitors, plus be have a chance to win up to $10,000 of cash prizes!
This unique financial modeling competition launches with the release of a case study containing detailed financial information about a company. All of the participants are then tasked with building a valuation model in Excel from scratch (or with a template), based on the information provided, and must arrive at a valuation for the business.
Contestants will have 1 week to build their model, determine a valuation, and then upload the completed model to our system.

Kaggle: Using News to Predict Stock Movements
Can we use the content of news analytics to predict stock price performance? The ubiquity of data today enables investors at any scale to make better investment decisions. The challenge is ingesting and interpreting the data to determine which data is useful, finding the signal in this sea of information. Two Sigma is passionate about this challenge and is excited to share it with the Kaggle community.

Global Case Competition at Harvard
The Global Case Competition at Harvard is the world’s most prestigious student-organized case competition. This year’s competition is organized by the Harvard College European Business Group (EBG), and the International Finance Student Association (IFSA).
Their goal is to bring together the best students of economics and finance throughout the world, and to offer them fantastic opportunities: to meet like-minded students, world leading institutions, and renowned guests. For this third edition of the competition all participants will enjoy a meet and greet reception, networking in Boston, and two days of case solving at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, before ending the weekend with an amazing closing ceremony.
A digital copy of the case will be disbursed to all participants and can be completed from abroad. The top 10 teams will be given the opportunity to make a short case presentation to a select panel of distinguished professors and industry professionals. If a top 10 finalist is not able to come to Cambridge, MA for the live final competition then a video presentation will need to be submitted.

Sustainable Investing Challenge
Contestants must propose and defend a strategy that uses finance and investment tools rather than an operating enterprise to address an environmental or societal challenge. The competition is an opportunity to apply core finance principles to target the economic, social and environmental challenges that drive the field of sustainable investing. Pitches might focus on areas like water, energy, food, social mobility, climate change, education or healthcare, among others. Contestants are encouraged to apply the entire spectrum of investment tools, styles and asset classes.
Two-page prospectuses must be submitted in February. The prospectus should outline a unique sustainable investment strategy. Ten finalist teams will be announced in March. These teams will be flown to Hong Kong and will be provided with two nights of lodging, and are expected to present their proposal at the finals competition on April 12, 2019.

SOHN Investment Idea Competition
The Sohn London Investment Idea Contest seeks to identify the most timely and actionable investment idea to be featured at the Sohn London Investment Conference. A distinguished group of judges will select the winning investment idea based on the judges’ determination of the most compelling idea with a 12-month horizon.
The winner presents the idea in a ten-minute presentation in front of attendees at the prestigious Sohn London Investment Conference.
